Upcoming ClassTopic:

Sunday, September 14th
6:45pm-8:15pm
Topic: Middlegame Planning

On Sunday night 8/24, I held 4 rated Quad Tournaments. Winning Section 1 was Aakarsh, who out-dueled Evan in some highly tactical match games. Section 2 saw young Kyle go undefeated with 2 1/2 points. Section 3 was swept by Michael Q who really wanted to win the iTunes card prize, and Ryan dominated Section by winning all his games. All results and ratings will be posted here soon.

In the next lesson class (3 weeks later) on 9/14, I will continue in Part 2 of my series on Middlegame Planning. Many players don't quite know what to do when they get out of the opening, and knowing how to analyze the position to know what to do next in the middlegame is critical.

I'll cover topics such as evaluating pawn structure and weak squares, determining and picking candidate moves, grabbing the initiative, and forming single- and multi-stage plans. Come and learn how to "Think & Play Like a Grandmaster", some of the books I'll be referencing.
